Design Challenge:
Nettlefolds approached Touch Interactive to advise and take a leading role in the development of an e-commerce website to sell their products direct to their customers via their active distribution networks. As probably the largest manufacturer and distributor of fasteners and fastener related products in the UK and with a fastener advisory service to the product manufacturing industry with customers such as Dyson, Hoover, Flymo, Miele and Land Rover, Nettlefolds were in a very strong position to use the internet to take advantage of this. In addition to this new venture Touch Interactive were asked to develop their own company website as well. (see Nettlefolds.com project)
Design Solution:
As the e-commerce site was to be a new venture Touch helped Nettlefolds to select a number of domain names which included FastFixNow.com (which was chosen)and NowFixIt.com. From this Touch developed a new brand drawing from the strength of the existing Nettlefolds brand which is well recognised within the manufacturing industry. Once the brand design was complete Touch developed a branding strategy for the new web site which also included the logo being printed on packaging, delivery vehicles and stationary.
Touch developed both web FastFixNow.com and Nettlefolds.com, their company website, in unison to ensure both followed the same interface look. This was important to convince customers that the e-commerce web site was part of the Nettlefolds group and therefore could be trusted to deliver the goods purchased on the site. The design followed an intelligent navigation system which was enhanced with the use of beautiful interactive 'industrial looking' icons which could be easily distinguished and understood. The e-commerce site included a comprehensive transaction solution to interface with their current logistical management systems.
Nettlefolds is currently working on their distribution and logistics strategy for FastFixNow.com and both sites should should go live later this year.
